The methodology emphasizes identifying vulnerable airport assets, estimating potential climate impacts, and quantifying the economic benefits of resilience investments relative to their costs. It also incorporates uncertainty in long-term climate projections using risk-based analytical approaches. Two key climate risks highlighted are extreme flooding from sea-level rise or storm surges and high temperatures that may impose aircraft weight restrictions or operational delays. Supporting tools, including Excel-based models and case studies, demonstrate how airports can estimate avoided damages, operational benefits, and financial feasibility when planning climate-resilient infrastructure projects.
